Here is the transcript for Driving Trouble.
Our story begins at Mrs. Puff’s Boating School, where SpongeBob is about to get his driver’s license once he’d passed the exam.
SpongeBob SquarePants: (to himself) Okay, SpongeBob, you tried this so many times before and now’s your chance to step yourself up. Don’t screw this up!
Mrs. Puff: Alright, SpongeBob. What is the first thing about driving?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Turn the key to start the engine.
Soon enough, he turns the key to start the boat.
Mrs. Puff: Very good, and what's next?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Shifting gears?
Mrs. Puff: Well done, SpongeBob. And the next step?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Floor it?
Mrs. Puff: Yes... No! No! Don't floor it.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Floor it?
Mrs. Puff: No! No! Don't! Don't floor it!
SpongeBob SquarePants: Okay, floor it!
As SpongeBob floors the panel, he was going too fast while driving.
Suddenly, they end up in SpongeBob's house and through the magic mirror that leads to Equestria.
Mrs. Puff: Look out, Mad driver coming through!
SpongeBob SquarePants: I can pass the test, Mrs. Puff! I can pass! Just gotta keep driving and I’ll pass for sure!
Gallus: What’s going on here!? (realized) Incoming!
Just then, Chancellor Neighsay was checking on Luster and her friends when he saw something.
Chancellor Neighsay: What is all the commotion!?
Luster Dawn: (pushing him out of the way) Chancellor Neighsay! Look out!
Starlight Glimmer: Take cover!
Sunburst: Everypony and every creature watch out!
SpongeBob SquarePants: Watch out! Hit the dirt!
Just then SpongeBob crashed right into the trees at the Everfree Forest.
Luster, Gallus and their friends: Aww!
Sandy Cheeks: Ooh, that's gotta hurt.
Patrick Star: Do it again! I wasn't looking!
Mrs. Puff: (puffed up) Oh, SpongeBob. Why?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Sorry, Mrs. Puff.
There was more trouble to come, Chancellor Neighsay was angry at SpongeBob.
Chancellor Neighsay: Well, I hope you're proud of yourself, SpongeBob, along with a few damages you caused!
SpongeBob SquarePants: I’m really sorry! I was just trying to pass the boat driving test, so that I can finally get my driver's license!
Starlight Glimmer: Listen, SpongeBob. We can understand that you wanted to earn your driver’s license, but you have to focus on studying your driving lesson before you do the real thing.
Chancellor Neighsay: But most of all, your accident apparently has caused your boating teacher to inflate in pain! Who knows how long it’ll take for her to recover, obviously a day or so!
SpongeBob SquarePants: Oh, don’t worry, this happens to her all the time.
Ms. Puff: (still inflated) That’s because you’re the cause of it, you moron!
Chancellor Neighsay: (sighed) It pains me to do it, but I’m afraid I have no choice but to close your teacher’s boating school till further notice.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Tartar sauce.
Mrs. Puff: You can’t do that! I run my own school! Besides, it’s from my world, not yours!
Chancellor Neighsay: I’m sorry, Mrs. Puff. But unless your inflating predicament wears off, we can’t have any school without any teacher.
So with Mrs. Puff taken to the hospital, Chancellor Neighsay used his medallion and worked his magic to close the boating school.
After the driving accident with Mrs. Puff, SpongeBob felt guilty for what happened to her.
SpongeBob SquarePants: I’m so sorry for what I did, Mrs. Puff. Now how will I get my driver’s license now while you’re here in the hospital?
Mrs. Puff: (sighs) It might be a while, but I'm still unsure about your failed tests. Maybe it would be best if you studied for once and tried not to get to more accidents.
SpongeBob knew that Ms. Puff was right, but he wasn't even sure what to say or do next.
Sadly, SpongeBob walks around Bikini Bottom in shame and disgrace.
SpongeBob SquarePants: I tried passing my tests and still nothing. I guess I'll never get my driver’s license. (moans and groans into his pineapple)
As SpongeBob started crying in his room and on his bed, Gary came in to see him.
Gary the Snail: (meows)
SpongeBob SquarePants: Not now, Gary. I’m a boating failure.
Gary the Snail: (meows while on his boots)
SpongeBob SquarePants: I’m really sorry, but not in the mood for walking, Gary.
Sure enough, Patrick knocked on the door to see if SpongeBob was home.
Patrick Star: SpongeBob, are you in here, buddy?
SpongeBob SquarePants: I’m... Doing fine, Patrick.
Patrick Star: Hey, SpongeBob, I know what’ll cheer you up. What's pink and square at the same time? (wearing SpongeBob’s SquarePants) Patrick SquarePants!
SpongeBob SquarePants: Patrick, please stop messing with my clothes, I’m having a bad day as it is.
Patrick Star: Sorry, SpongeBob, I’d just thought I could help. (as the pants ripped away from him)
SpongeBob SquarePants: Patrick, I think it’s best that you leave me alone right now.
Patrick Star: What?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Just get out, Patrick! (forcing him away) Just go home, I had enough help right now! (closed the door on him and cries)
Patrick Star: Barnacles, and I thought I could make him happier again. (as he walks back to his rock sadly)
Later as SpongeBob kept crying in bed as absorbs his tears and back out, Luster came to see him with her air bubble activated from her magic and saw him depressed.
Luster Dawn: SpongeBob, are you okay?
SpongeBob SquarePants: (looking at her) Luster? What are you doing here?
Luster Dawn: I'd just thought I could see you, but I'm really sorry about your failed tests to get your driver's license.
SpongeBob SquarePants: (sighs sadly) Thanks for your support, Luster. (looking away) But... It's not just going to happen... Maybe I should probably quit boating school and forget about my dream of having a driver's license.
Luster Dawn: (gasped) SpongeBob, quitting is never the right option to your problems. Believe me, I know. When I first became Princess Twilight Sparkle’s personal pupil, Gallus once taught me to never give up on a dream you’re destined for.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Really?
Luster Dawn: Of course. Whenever we put our minds on something that's worth the time, we can accomplish anything and everything. (pointing out with her hoof) And if we can find a way to follow on, so can you.
SpongeBob knew that Luster was right, he gave it a little thought about it. Then finally, he made a decision to fulfill his own dreams.
SpongeBob SquarePants: You know what, Luster? You're right, I can't just abandon everything that I worked hard on. I have got to try and learn how to make this right! (looking at her) That is if you can help me out, Luster?
Luster Dawn: Of course I’ll help, SpongeBob. Now, let’s go see Headmare Glimmer and Vice Headstallion Sunburst, they’ll know what to do.
The next day at the School of Friendship, both Luster and SpongeBob were waiting patiently.
Luster Dawn: Just relax, SpongeBob, they’ll know exactly what to do.
SpongeBob SquarePants: I hear you, Luster. It's just... I'm a little bit nervous about attending this school.
Luster Dawn: Don't worry, I'll be right with you every step of the way.
SpongeBob SquarePants: (taking a deep breath) Okay, I'm ready.
Luster Dawn: Great. (calling out) Ready when you are, Gallus!
Gallus: Gotcha covered, Luster.
Soon, they came to see Starlight and Sunburst who just made a new driveway obstacle course.
Starlight Glimmer: SpongeBob, you're going to need the Patty Wagon.
Sunburst: (pulls the blanket off the Patty Wagon) Ta-Da!
SpongeBob SquarePants: Wow! The Patty Wagon!
Sunburst: Discord told us what you told him, Luster, and Gallus, he got out the Patty Wagon and remade it for you to practice driving your own boatmobile.
Starlight Glimmer: That's right. So it's as good as new.
Luster Dawn: But before you go behind the wheels, let’s learn the base mechanics.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Um... okay.
And so, SpongeBob gets in the Patty Wagon and gets started learning from the basics.
Sunburst: Okay, what’s the first thing about driving?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Start the car.
Sunburst: That's correct, SpongeBob. You should always start the vehicle before you begin driving, that’s when you have to focus.
Starlight Glimmer: Now, what’s the next thing on driving?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Fasten seatbelts.
Starlight Glimmer: And what’s next?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Hmmm... Should I floor the gas paddle?
Sunburst: Yes.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Okay, floor it.
Starlight Glimmer: But not all the way down, SpongeBob.
Gallus: Just halfway.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Oh. Okay, halfway.
And so, SpongeBob gently pushes the accelerator down.
Luster Dawn: That’s it, SpongeBob. Get ready for your first turn.
Gallus: Here comes the first turn.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Left. (turns left) Right. (turns right) Am I doing it right?
Sunburst: You’re doing good, SpongeBob.
SpongeBob SquarePants: I am?
Starlight Glimmer: You did the right thing.
So with that, SpongeBob kept on driving until he was finished.
After the driving test, SpongeBob decided to take a break.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Phew. All that driving really works up an appetite. (brings out a bag with the Krusty Krab logo on it) Good thing I got this from the Krusty Krab before I left.
Gallus: No offense, SpongeBob. But what is it with you and krabby patties anyway?
SpongeBob SquarePants: It’s because of their delicacies, you make a krabby patty after flipping on the grill until they’re burned. Then, you put them on some bottom buns, and add cheese, pickles, lettuces, tomatoes, onions and top bun, or which other ways you prefer.
Gallus: Not bad, SpongeBob. To be completely honest with you, I sure would like to try one.
SpongeBob SquarePants: (showing two Krabby Patties) Well, Gallus, here’s your chance now.
Gallus: (taking a bite on the Krabby Patty) Now, that was very appetizing.
SpongeBob SquarePants: You love it?
Gallus: You bet I do, this is the best thing I’ve ever tasted.
The next morning, SpongeBob was getting ready for his second driving test.
SpongeBob SquarePants: (whistling with excitement) I’m ready when you are, Luster.
Luster Dawn: Okay, SpongeBob. You know how to drive your vehicle.
SpongeBob SquarePants: (snaps his fingers) Seat-belt-aroony. (puts on the seatbelt with no problem)
Gallus: Great, now shift the gear.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Check. Now, to ignite the engine. (as he starts the engine)
Luster Dawn: And now, drive.
Soon enough, SpongeBob was able to drive properly and carefully. Luster and Gallus were both very impressed with his progress.
Gallus: Not half bad, SpongeBob.
Luster Dawn: You’re getting the hang of it.
SpongeBob SquarePants: I’m actually doing it! I’m driving! If Mrs. Puff can see me now!
The next morning, SpongeBob decided to join Larry the Lobster for some workout at the gym.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Hiya, Larry.
Larry the Lobster: Hey there, SpongeBob. What brings you here to the gym?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Oh, just thought I’d work out after my driving lesson.
Larry the Lobster: Really? That's great to hear, and how's it going so far?
SpongeBob SquarePants: It's going great, thanks to Sunburst and Luster Dawn.
Larry the Lobster: You must be pretty lucky to have new friends in Equestria, huh?
SpongeBob SquarePants: I sure am, Larry. And sooner or later, I’ll get my very own boating license.
Larry the Lobster: Well, good luck with that, SpongeBob. I'm certain that you'll be driving around Bikini Bottom with flying colors.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Me too.
Larry the Lobster: Let me share a little advice for ya before you, SpongeBob. The reason why Luster wanted to help you is because she cared about you, that’s what friends do.
SpongeBob SquarePants: You're right, Larry. My friends deserve to help me anytime. I never gave up on my driving exam after failing because I have to keep trying. Bye, Larry.
And so, SpongeBob took off as he set off to prepare his final driving test for good.
Later that day, SpongeBob’s getting ready for his last driving test exam with Luster and Gallus.
Luster Dawn: Okay, SpongeBob, are you ready for this?
SpongeBob SquarePants: I’m ready!
Gallus: Then start driving, Sponge... (looks at him with the blindfolds on) Bob? Why are you wearing those over your eyes?
SpongeBob SquarePants: So I can have better senses to know where I’m going.
Luster Dawn: No offense, SpongeBob, but that sounds a little dangerous.
SpongeBob SquarePants: But how am I supposed to drive better without the blindfold?
Gallus: If driving with a blindfold on is illegal, then you’re gonna have to follow the law.
Luster Dawn: Look, you don’t need the blindfold to help you drive, you need friends who’ll help you focus on driving. Just remember what to do while driving, but no blindfolds.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Okay, Luster, if you and Gallus know best. Starting engine, (as he starts the engine) fastening seatbelt, (as he fastens his seatbelt on) and floor gas paddle halfway. (as he floors it halfway and drove on)
Luster Dawn: That’s it, SpongeBob, you’re doing it.
Gallus: Keep your eyes on the road and don’t hold back.
And with that, SpongeBob has his eyes literally on the road while driving.
Gallus: Okay, I don’t mean to be literal about it.
Luster Dawn: Just go with it, Gallus.
Without any distraction, SpongeBob kept on driving until he reached the finish line.
Luster Dawn: You did it, SpongeBob!
SpongeBob SquarePants: I did it! I actually did it! Whoo!
Just then, Mrs. Puff appeared out of nowhere on a wheelchair with Chancellor Neighsay accompanying her and couldn't believe how amazed they were at how he does with a little help.
Mrs. Puff: (clapping her fins) Well done, SpongeBob, well done! I was beginning to think you wouldn't pass.
Chancellor Neighsay: Indeed, Mrs. Puff. (to SpongeBob) It’s clear to me as well that Luster Dawn and Gallus have taught you very well.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Oh, hey, guys! what're you two doing here?
Mrs. Puff: Well, you see, SpongeBob. When I'd just got back from the hospital, Chancellor Neighsay and I saw how Luster and Gallus are able to teach you how to drive. I must admit, I’m actually jealous that they can teach you better than me.
SpongeBob SquarePants: That’s what I thought, Mrs. Puff. At first, I wasn’t able to ride any vehicle due to what happened, but Luster and Gallus helped me because of it. And no matter how angry you've been or paranoid, you'll always be the best driving teacher in my book.
Mrs. Puff: Well, SpongeBob. As much as I don't like you at all, I might as well accept your compliment. And one more thing, SpongeBob. (bestowed his driver's license) Here is your license.
SpongeBob SquarePants: (grasped) Really, for real, Mrs. Puff?!
Mrs. Puff: Yes, SpongeBob. Take it, you've earned it fair in square.
Chancellor Neighsay: And thanks to Starlight Glimmer and Sunburt’s new way of teaching you to drive well enough with some help from Luster and Gallus, I shall reopen Mrs. Puff’s Boating School now that she’s recovering. And another thing, SpongeBob, I never got the chance to apologize. I’m truly sorry I misjudged your accident, some of us can be a slow learner when it comes to making new friends from beyond Equestria and the next dimension compared to yours.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Thanks, Chancellor Neighsay, that’s the nicest thing any pony has ever said to me. (to Mrs. Puff) And thank you, Mrs. Puff, you're the best. (to Luster and Gallus) And thank you, Luster, Gallus, for everything.
Luster Dawn: What else are friends for, SpongeBob?
Gallus: No worries, pal.
Later, SpongeBob decided to practice his driving skills on the Patty Wagon.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Okay, that's enough practice for more than one day. Time to go to work.
Finally, SpongeBob dives happily to the Krusty Krab for work.
